We’re excited to announce an update to Oasys Explorer with the integration of the latest version of Blockscout – the web3 engine for deep exploration of all aspects of a chain. This update will boost performance, making accessibility to blockchain data easier for users and Verse Builders in the Oasys ecosystem.
Why Is The Blockscout Update Important
Blockscout, used across Oasys’s L1 and various L2 Verses (including the Sand Verse testnet), has received a significant upgrade. By incorporating this update, we’ll achieve a smoother introduction of Verses on Oasys’ Hub-Layer. With improved database performance and a restructured data table, Blockscout now processes information faster while using less storage, allowing users to access the data they need in less time.
Along with the changes on the backend there are also considerable user interface (UI) improvements. The front end now boasts enhanced data visibility and customisation options. Users can trace the most recent transaction directly from their wallet address. The design tweaks include new theme colours, giving users more flexibility to personalise their experience and adding a fresh, modern look to the Blockscout Explorer.
How It Impacts Verse Builders
To make this transition seamless, Oasys has set up an environment for Verse Builders to quickly adopt the updated Blockscout Explorer. Several Verses, including Saakuru, GEEK, and DeFi Verse, have already been updated, showing the new tool in action. Moreover, Oasys has made specific adjustments to improve the visibility of transaction activity on the OP stack.
We have also added detailed setup instructions to our documentation to support developers and companies building on the Oasys blockchain who want to integrate the new Explorer.
What’s Next?
As we continue to expand and enhance the Oasys ecosystem, the team is considering several value-adding features and functionalities. A potential new L1<>L2 bridge function within the explorer can be installed automatically when a Verse Builder creates an explorer, saving developers time by eliminating the need to build separate screens for withdrawals and deposits to L1. The goal is to streamline the user experience further and simplify the lives of builders with faster development and deployment of Verses.
